Similan Island

      Similan Islands National Park. In the year 1982 as a national park covers an area of  Phra Thong Island. Kuraburi District Phang Nga has a total area of approximately 128 square kilometers in year 1998 have integrated Ta Chai Ta-chai Island. Making a total area of 140 square kilometers.

  
   Similan is a Malay translation of the ninth as the naming The nine-island archipelago are Bon Island, Ba Ngu Island, Similan Island,Pha-Yu Island,Ha Island,Mieng Island,Payan Island,Payang Island  and Yhu- Yong Island , but called the Mariners. Runs from south to north, respectively, an island two islands,  Three Island, Four Island,Fifth Island, six islands ,seven islands, eight islands (Similan Island) and Koh Kao (Kao Island). Similan Islands. Has been declared a national park. Basin covers an area of the island and the sea around the island, complete with coral. In Ko Phra Thong Subdistrict. Kuraburi District Phang-nga is approximately 128  square kilometers area of the book published in 1999 when 123 dated September 1, 1982.
   Park is No. 43 overall in Thailand, Koh Bon(Bon Island), located north of the island into a Bar-Ygu Island.And later, Included the Ta-chai island area of 12 square kilometers aer national park to another. Total gross area of 140 square kilometers park.

   Topography.Hilly sand and beautiful coral reefs along the shore. And other marine life underwater Reef Similan Islands are mostly deep-water coral reefs. There are no exact border line.Side of the sand before the next pitch into the sea quickly. There is a group of coral. Not disrupted as general reef.Diversity of coral species very.Such as antler coral, Coral flower,Etc.
    

   The on - off season following year.

Off season. From the date of May 1 to October 31 of each year.
Open season. From the date of November 1 to April 30 of each year.    


   Late December - mid April A range suitable for most to travel.In March, the weather is the best clear water and no storm.

• Travel

           > Bangkok - Thap lamu Pier Rd.Can travel by Air-conditioned buses. Takes about 12 hours.Or travel by van takes about 10 hours.
           > Thap Lamu Pier - National Park Headquarters (Similan Island). Motorboat contracting. Takes about 4 hours.

   You can take the plane came down at Phuket International Airport, then taxi (1500 Baht) or take a bus  from Phuket to Thap Lamu It's cost cheaper.! 


   Bangkok Airport to Phuket International Airport. Then travel to Phang Nga province.By car or van (A van from the pier Transfer Services - Send) to Lamu Pier. Distance of 100 kilometers.And trip speed boat out to the church, Similan Islands National Park. Distance of 70 kilometers.To travel by boat must be booked at least about 3 days because the ship will go. And return only one way only.Morning trip to the island at 8.30 pm and from the island at 15.30 pm.(Getting to the island when the ship's visit, some companies may be islands. For snorkeling around 2-3  the island ) But the park is not available to ship to a ship of private companies only.
